Welcome to Giggle Bellies Daycare!
Giggle-Bellies was established so long ago that I’ve lost track—though I’d say it’s been over 38 years. Every morning, I wake up excited to welcome my little ones for another day of fun and learning. And yes, learning can be fun!
We keep Giggle-Bellies small, just the way we like it. With fewer children, each one gets the individual attention they deserve. Nobody is just a face in the crowd here—every child is special, and we make sure they feel that way.
My name is Marie—Auntie Marie, Nana Marie, Ouma Marie, or just plain Mah-ie, depending on who’s calling! I happily answer to them all.
My love for teaching started early. As a young child, I would “help” my mother, who taught Sub A (now called Grade 1). That experience sparked a lifelong passion. Life may not always let us choose the music, but we can choose how we dance to it!
From the moment Giggle-Bellies came to life, I never looked back. Every day is a new adventure—what fun things can we do today?
In the summertime, learning takes a hands-on approach. Gardening, exploring nature, and running through the sprinkler all become part of the day. Who says you can’t learn from earthworms, snails, and birds?
On chilly days, we cozy up under a duvet for story time, play hide-and-seek, or dance to our favorite songs. There’s always something exciting happening!
Of course, we do have structure in our days—everything in its time. Our goal at Giggle-Bellies is to give children the chance to truly enjoy their early years while building a strong foundation for the future. We aim to nurture happy, confident, and responsible young individuals.

Candice has been a dedicated member of the Giggle-Bellies family for the past 16 years, bringing passion, warmth, and professionalism to everything she does. With a deep love for childcare, she has had the privilege of caring for children as young as 3 months old and watching them grow into young adults—some of whom still stay in touch! Her commitment to each child’s well-being is evident in the strong, trusting relationships she builds with both children and parents.
Candice has an exceptional ability to connect with little ones, understanding their unique personalities and needs. She is equally attuned to the concerns of parents, offering reassurance, guidance, and open communication. Her natural rapport with families, combined with her professional approach, creates a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow. At Giggle-Bellies, Candice isn’t just an educator—she’s a cherished part of every child’s journey.
